Over Parish Council

Vacancies for Councillors

Over Parish Council is here to improve the quality of life and local environment for our residents, and to represent the interests of everyone in our community.

Our recent projects have included improvements at Overcote and the on-going refurbishment of the Pavilion.  The Parish Council is also responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of various facilities including the Green and some smaller patches of land, trees and hedges, and supports a number of village initiatives including Speed Watch and Light Up Our Village.

Over is growing with developments approved in Fen End, Mill Road and Longstanton Road, we will have an additional 100+ households over the next few years.  We want to help integrate our new residents into the community and ensure we have suitable facilities to meet the needs of all.

Would you like to make a difference in our Community?  We are seeking active and committed applicants who like to get things done.

Councillors need to be able to give approximately 10 hours per month to support the community, including preparing for and attending meetings, and must be IT literate with the ability to access emails and documents online.

Becoming a Councillor has hidden benefits.  As a Councillor you will get involved with projects around the village, meet new people, learn a great deal, give back to your community and contribute to society.  It can be an extremely rewarding role.
