Welfare Benefits Advice - a support service for our residents    21 May, 2016

South Cambridgeshire District Council has asked for this information to be shared with our residents:

Over residents can access this support service if they need to.  Disability Huntingdonshire (DISH) gives welfare benefits advice and provides advocacy and information to people (children and adults) with disabilities.

DISH is a small registered charity with 3 part time members of staff and 2 volunteers. It has been in existence since 1991. They provide home visits for the housebound, office based interviews, and a telephone helpline. They assist families and individuals to obtain the resources that can lift them out of poverty and enable them to live independently. They particularly help with filling in applications for Attendance Allowance, Personal Independence Payments or Disability Living Allowance (child).

They are willing to address groups and explain their service, which includes interviewing people at their office in Papworth where there is Disabled Access and free Car Parking. If people are housebound, they can make home visits.

Contact them on: 01480 748 168 or 0330 3553 256 (landline rates for mobiles).  Your contact is Audrey Gatford.
